Lewis Black coming to the Weidner Center Sept. 16

The Weidner Center for the Performing Arts will welcome LEWIS BLACK to Green Bay for a live performance at 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16. Black, the prolific funny man, actor, author and stand-up comedian/ranter, will be live on stage as part of his “Running on Empty” tour.

Hinckleys to receive Chancellor’s Award from UW-Green Bay

Dr. James and Patricia Hinckley of Green Bay will be recognized at UW-Green Bay spring commencement this Saturday, May 12, with the institution’s highest community honor, the Chancellor’s Award. The Hinckleys’ relationship with the University dates to the late 1970s and includes substantial involvement with, and support of, the University’s academic mission, the fine arts and Phoenix Athletics.

2012-2013 Stage Doors Education Series Announced

The Weidner Center for the Performing Arts is proud to announce the 2012-2013 Stage Doors Education Series, providing learning opportunities for students throughout Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. The season kicks off in October 2012 and extends through April 2013, featuring 11 titles and a total of 21 performances.

A newly reinvigorated partnership between the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay’s Adult Degree Program and Wausau-based Northcentral Technical College is bringing NTC grads “One Degree Closer” to earning their bachelor’s degree, thanks to a guaranteed credit transfer agreement between the two institutions.

UW-Green Bay to graduate 900 at commencement ceremonies May 12

Chancellor Thomas K. Harden will preside at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay’s 2012 spring commencement ceremony at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 12, in the Kress Events Center on campus. More than 900 University of Wisconsin-Green Bay students are eligible to participate in the spring commencement ceremony, including an all-time high number of undergraduate degree candidates.

Scheberle is national teacher of the year in political science

Longtime University of Wisconsin-Green Bay faculty member Denise Scheberle has been recognized as the 2012 national teacher of the year by the American Political Science Association. Scheberle will receive the Distinguished Teaching Award at the association’s annual conference later this year in New Orleans.

UW-Green Bay to host 16th annual NAS Heirloom Plant Sale May 12

The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay will host its 16th annual Natural and Applied Sciences Heirloom Plant Sale from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday, May 12 in the Lab Sciences Greenhouse on campus, 2420 Nicolet Drive. If plants are left over, another sale will be held at the same time the following Saturday, May 19.
