Arjo Wiggins Appleton’s $740,000 gift to UW-Green Bay extends watershed research

The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay announced today (July 29) that a $740,000 gift from Arjo Wiggins Appleton Ltd. will extend and expand the highly successful Lower Fox River Watershed Monitoring Program in which local high school students monitor water quality in area streams.

UW-Green Bay hosts faculty jazz camp recital

Faculty members at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay will be joined by several guest artists for a free jazz concert on Thursday, July 29 as part of the Jazz on the Bay summer camp. Students taking part in the camp will be treated to the professional concert that features camp instructors and several special guests.

Alumnus releases first solo album

Speaking of jazz, UW-Green Bay alumnus Kevin Barnett ’83 (Communication and the Arts, with an emphasis in Music) has released his first solo jazz album. Coverage of symposium

UW-Green Bay hosted the third annual Wisconsin Science and Technology Symposium last week. The event attracted about 150 researchers from across the state and generated some coverage from the local media. Lifetime achievement awards

UW-Green Bay Prof. Emeritus Bud Harris (Natural and Applied Sciences) and Vicky Harris, water quality specialist with the UW Sea Grant Institute, were given a lifetime achievement award by the Nature Conservancy. Both were applauded for their efforts to address pollution in the bay. Here’s a link to more information on the award.
