In the Winterim of 2020, Dr. Holstead seeks a group of students interested in learning more about School Psychology. Students will be paired with local school psychologists in the Green Bay Area Public School District. Students will complete a 100-hour internship (for 3 credits) helping administer academic and socio-emotional interventions for kids, progress monitoring of interventions, completing observations of students in various educational programs, and completing various other tasks as required by the School Psychologists. Students will work full-time in Green Bay Schools for a three-week period, shadowing School Psychologists and providing intensive services for students who need support.
In order to be eligible for this internship, students must have a GPA of at least a 3.4, have reliable transportation to/from local schools, be of junior/senior status. Students must also be available to complete the internship full-time during January Interim 2020 (January 2-24, 2020). Students may enroll in the experience as a J-Term course, or may enroll in the experience as part of their Fall semester credit load (and receive a grade of Incomplete in fall, but complete the internship in J-Term and have the grade changed after the internship is finished).
