This spring, Dr. Jenell Holstead seeks Teaching Assistants for HUM DEV 102: Introduction to Human Development. Students who may apply include juniors and seniors who are majoring/minoring in Human Development. Students must have successfully taken the Introduction course and achieved a grade of ‘A’ or ‘AB.’ Students should have availability in their schedule to attend all course lectures (TH 11-12:20 PM), as well as have availability to meet for approximately one additional hour (every other week) for TA meetings. The TA meeting time will be based on all TA’s availability. Other requirements will include writing examination questions, facilitating review sessions and in-class activities, writing a Statement of Teaching Philosophy, writing a research paper, and completing other bi-monthly assignments.
Being a Teaching Assistant is a 3-credit course. It does not count as an elective for the major or minor, but the credits do count toward the 120 required for graduation. It is also a wonderful opportunity to prepare you for graduate school or the workplace.
