Welcome Nolan Bennett!

On August 19, 2019, the Democracy and Justice Studies department welcomed Nolan Bennett as an Assistant Professor in Democracy & Justice Studies.

Nolan comes to UW-Green Bay from the Department of Government at Georgetown University where he spent 3 years as an Assistant Teaching Professor. Prior to that he was a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at Duke University.

In his free time, Nolan enjoys bird watching, photography, hiking, reading, and video games. In addition to teaching courses about incarceration and injustice, he has lead several seminars of students in correctional facilities as well as inside-outside seminars that bring non-incarcerated students in to work with incarcerated students.

Nolan holds a PhD in Government with a focus on political theory and American politics from Cornell University, summer of 2014. He is originally from Oakland, California.
