Lecturer-Political Science/Legal Studies (One-Year Appointment)

The Department of Democracy and Justice Studies seeks a political scientist for a one-year, full-time Lecturer position. The successful candidate will have the capacity to teach courses in the Democracy and Justice Studies (DJS) and Political Science (PS) programs to suit the instructor’s expertise and preferences as well as departmental needs. Successful applicants must be able to teach Democracy and Justice Studies 420: Constitutional Law and Democracy and Justice Studies 325: Law and Society and serve as the pre-law advisor. They will also have opportunities to teach courses such as American Government, other Public Law courses and, if appropriate, courses in Women’s and Gender Studies. Candidates who are able to offer a unique course in legal research, specialized areas of law (such as public defense, civil liberties, or immigration), or otherwise expand our reach in this area are especially encouraged to apply.
