Today the RA/CA spotlight is on Katy Doll, a Resident Assistant in Ted Lenfestey Hall. Katy is a psychology major with a minor in human development.  In her free time, Katy likes to read, spend time with friends, watch TV, and bake.  Katy is also involved in Circle K International and the Psychology and the Human Development clubs.

This is Katy’s second year as an RA and her favorite part of this position is connecting with the students on campus. In fact, Katy said that she feels the most accomplished when she is making connections. “I always feel accomplished in connecting with my residents and seeing my residents make connections with one another and with the campus.” Katy said. As for what this position has taught her, Katy also noted learning about herself and her leadership style as lessons learned. “In my role as a RA, I have also continued developing my interpersonal and leadership skills as I work with students both in resident life and throughout the campus.  Many of the personal tools I have learned and developed while within res life are skills that will be extremely useful throughout my academic and professional life.” Katy said.

Katy also reflected on her favorite staff memory. “My favorite memory from being a RA comes from last year.  A group of RAs that worked in Half Staff got together to make some lip-synced music videos.  The end result was nonetheless humorous in between our unique dance moves and mismatched lyrics.” Katy said.

Thanks Katy for all your hard work!
