Today the RA/CA spotlight is shining on Matt Nieman, a Resident Assistant in 3322. The other members of Trad Staff call him Shaq, but everyone else calls him Matt. Matt is a business administration major with an emphasis in marketing and a minor in Spanish.  In his free time, Matt likes to watch basketball. “I’m a huge NBA fan so I try to catch as many games as I can on TV come basketball season.” Said Matt. “The Milwaukee Bucks are my favorite team. I also love playing basketball as well and do that a lot in my free time.”

This is Matt’s first year as an RA and his favorite part of this position is helping residents with problems and creating a strong connection with the campus and community. “I will be graduating in May. It’s a great way to end 4 years at UWGB.” Matt said. One accomplishment Matt is really proud of is being hired as an RA. “It was something I really wanted to do and I’m very proud that I was hired.” Matt said. Overall this position has taught Matt how fun and rewarding being an RA can be. “You meet a ton of new people, make new friends, and have a great connection with your residents, community, and campus.” Matt said.

Matt also shared that his favorite staff memory so far is the Whose Line? Phoenix Style! program that members of Trad staff put together. “It was a lot of fun and a huge success for us.” Matt said. “We had 60 people attend and everyone had a great time and actually played the improve games with us.”

Thanks Matt and good luck with the rest of your year!
