One of the best things about living on campus is networking with students and creating lasting friendships. There are so many opportunities to make friends on campus, including meeting your roommate, people on your floor or in your building, and by attending events. We have heard it time and time again how students create friendships with people they would have never met if they did not live on campus.
Rob Sewell Jr., human biology major and Summer Housing Assistant, said that he and his roommate ended up being like brothers. And Tierney Murphy, human biology major and Summer Housing Assistant, said that when she lived in Robert Warren Hall her freshman year, their building was so close that they were almost like a family.
Stephanee Morales, social work major and Summer Housing Assistant, also shared a story about how she and her roommates were so close they would pull pranks on each other. “I know that’s not the answer you want to hear,” Stephanee said embarrassed, “But it’s true. I, with the help of another roommate, saran wrapped our third roommate’s entire bed and desk.” Stephanee said her roommate thought it was funny and it became like a game between the three of them.
We want to hear your great friendship stories too! If you have a story about how you made friends by living on campus, comment below this blog.
