The end of the semester is drawing near, and for various reasons, some students will be terminating their Housing contract with our office. This blog explains: who is eligible to terminate the Spring 2013 term of an academic year housing contract, who is eligible to receive the $200 advance deposit refunded, and how to terminate Spring 2013 contracts.
The following conditions outline situations where a student is able to terminate the Spring 2013 term of an academic year contract with the Office of Residence Life and receive the $200 advance deposit refund:
-Student is graduating at the end of the 2012 Fall semester.
-Student is participating in a University sponsored activity that requires them to reside away from the Green Bay area (internship, research, student teaching, studying abroad, or an exchange program). Documentation must be provided to verify this.
-Student is transferring to another university within the UW System and provides documentation verifying a Spring 2013 term housing contract with that institution.
The following conditions outline situations where a student is able to terminate the Spring 2013 term of an academic year contract with the Office of Residence Life but will not receive the $200 advance deposit refund:
-Student is transferring to another college, university, or technical institution and has cancelled their student status with UW-Green Bay for the Spring 2013 semester.
-Student is not attending UW-Green Bay during the Spring Semester due to academic withdrawal or suspension.
All other residents are required to fulfill the terms and conditions of their housing contracts for the full 2012-2013 academic year.
If you are eligible and wish to request release from the Spring term of your academic year housing contract, you must submit an online contract termination request no later than Friday, November 16. Any documentation supporting your request for contract release is due to the Office of Residence Life by this date as well.
If you are not attending UW-Green Bay for the upcoming Spring academic term, you must also cancel your enrollment by calling or visiting the Student Service Center, Student Services 1100, (920) 465-2111.
If you have any questions, please call or visit the Office of Residence Life during the hours of 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
The Office of Residence Life would like to wish good luck to all students graduating this December or relocating to further their studies next semester!
