Dr. Shermer was once an evangelical Christian and a creationist, and is now one of the best-known public intellectuals defending evolutionary theory. “Why Darwin Matters,” Sherman shows why creationism and Intelligent Design are not only bad science, they are bad theology, and why science should be embraced by people of all beliefs.

Growing up on an Arapahoe Indian burial ground Chris Moon got used to seeing objects disappearing and reappearing; doors opening and closing on their own volition, strange shadows, and nightly haunted sonnets played on the family’s 100-year-old grand piano. Now Chris tours college campuses around the country lecturing on his ghost hunting experiences and demonstrating interactive investigations to students eager to learn more about the paranormal. His 90 min. presentation is followed by a ghost hunt.

The Price Is Right Live is the hit interactive stage show that gives contestants pulled right from the audience the chance to “come on down” to win appliances, vacations and even new cars by playing classic games from television’s longest running and most popular game show. From Plinko to Cliffhangers to the Big Wheel, and even the fabulous Showcase Showdown, all the favorite games are played just like the TV show. Even if your name is not called to play you still have a chance to win. Guest’s names are called out throughout the show to win prizes just for being there.

On January 31, 2011, Zach Wahls addressed the Iowa House Judiciary Committee in a public hearing regarding a proposed constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage in Iowa. By the end of the week, everyone knew his name and wanted to hear more from the boy with two moms. Same-sex marriage will be a major—possibly the defining—issue in this year’s election cycle, and Wahls speaks to that, but also to a broader issue.
