In the news: Chancellor-designate Miller

The announcement on Monday, June 2 that Gary L. Miller has been named the next chancellor of UW-Green Bay received considerable media coverage locally, as news outlets heard from the chancellor-designate and others during an afternoon press conference. Chancellor-designate Miller spoke via telephone about his plans for transition, his thoughts on issues facing higher education, his desire to innovate and partner with the community, and much more. Also joining via telephone was Chancellor Tom Harden, while Regent Tim Higgins and Search and Screen Committee members Cheryl Grosso and Jennifer Mokren attended in person.

Included in the coverage is Tuesday’s Green Bay Press-Gazette editorial, which says Miller’s track record with campus and community ties makes him a good fit for UW-Green Bay’s top job. Read the editorial.
