Message from the Chancellor: Orlando Tragedy

UW-Green Bay Chancellor Gary L. Miller e-mailed the following message to faculty and staff on Tuesday, June 14, 2016:

Dear Members of the University Community:

I know there are heavy hearts on our campus this week after the senseless violence in Orlando, Florida over the weekend.  Please join Georgia and me in sending our most sincere condolences to the families of the victims of this horrific act of violence.

It is my understanding that a campus event to give members of our community the opportunity to unite peacefully against such pointless violence is being planned.  Please be alert for details about the event as they become available.

As educators, we bear a special obligation to continue to try to find ways to create a world in which such pointless acts do not take place.  I hope we will rededicate ourselves to the cause of peace and the values found in diversity.  I hope we can find strength in uniting together in the wake of this tragedy.

Gary L. Miller
