Last month the Chancellor’s Scholarship Dinner brought together 200 community friends for a relaxing evening at the Weidner Center.

The Council of Trustees hosted. From the music of Christine Salerno, to the food and service, to the extras arranged by Ginny Riopelle and friends, it was first-class. Lou LeCalsey spoke of the community’s 40-year pride in aiding campus development. In just seven years, the dinner has become a signature social gathering and noteworthy fundraiser. While I hesitate to single out contributors — our supporters comprise a cast of thousands across many programs — I’ll do so here. Not only did our dinner table sponsors make sizeable scholarship gifts, their names illustrate the great breadth of support for UW-Green Bay.

We publicly thank individuals including Bob and Carol Bush; Larry and Kay Ferguson; Susan Finco and Ed Kralovec; Phil and Betsy Hendrickson; and Mike and Kate Meeuwsen and Bob and Jolyce Rupp. Corporate and foundation support for the dinner came from American Foods Group; Associated Bank; A’viands; Bellin College; Bellin Health; Camera Corner; DeLeers Construction; The Ferguson Family Foundation; GENCO; The Green Bay Packers, Inc.; Leonard and Finco Public Relations; Miron Construction; Schreiber Foods; Shopko; Tufco Technologies, Inc.; and Wisconsin Public Service Corporation. Thank you, good friends, for a wonderful evening.
