Blake Mycoskie, Founder of TOMS Shoes, well known for his appearances in the AT&T Commercial, on the Amazing Race and President Clinton’s Global Summit, will be speaking on February 2, about his story and how he went from a “spoiled rich guy” to a philanthropist and entrepreneur. In the spirit of the Chief Shoe Giver of TOMS Shoes idea of “doing well by doing good” UW-Green Bay’s Office of Student Life, Good Times Programming, UW-Green Bay’s Red Cross Club, YMCA’s of Green Bay, Green Bay Community Church, Boys and Girls Club and UW-Green Bay’s Social Work Club are collecting gently used athletic shoes, boots and business shoes. These will be collected to help the Green Bay community. The shoes will be donated to families and children in need of shoes during the cold winter months. Donations will be collected until the day of the event, February 2, 2010. The gently used shoes, boots, and business shoes can be dropped off on campus in the Office of Student Life, UU150 or in the community at any of the YMCA sites, Green Bay Community Church, The Lakeland Chapter of the American Red Cross Center, and East and West locations of the Boys and Girls Club.

ORG OFFICERS NEEDED BEFORE THE END OF THIS SEMESTER OR THIS ORG WILL DIE!!
ORG members wanted!
In the past, fund raising has been done for a variety of non-profit organizations in Africa that help provide clean water, housing, and educational supplies for children and adults living with HIV/AIDS in Africa.
Our faculty advisor, Dr. Gaurav Bansal, would like to expand this org to include a broader range of international charities and organizations.
This is a great opportunity to work in global outreach: get to know people from different countries and help people in need!
