The Posters in the Rotunda

The 12th Annual Posters in the Rotunda will be held on April 22nd, 2015

  • Presented by the UW-System
  • Hosted in the State Capitol Rotunda in Madison, WI
  • Undergraduate students only

The UW-System Symposium for Undergraduate Research & Creative Activity 

The 14th Annual UW-System Symposium for Undergraduate Research & Creativity Activity will be held on April 24th, 2015

  • Presented by the UW-Milwaukee Office of Undergraduate Research, Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program and The Support for Undergraduate Research Fellows Program
  • Hosted at UW-Milwaukee
  • Undergraduate students only

The Academic Excellence Symposium

  • Presented by the UW-Green Bay College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, College of Professional Studies, and Phi Kappa Phi
  • Hosted at UW-Green Bay
  • Both undergraduate and graduate UW-Green Bay students are considered

 The following are funding opportunities for undergraduate research:

CUR – The Council on Undergraduate Research

Biology Division – Student Travel Award 2014-2015

  • Travel grants for undergraduate students presenting their own, original research results at regional or national, discipline-specific meetings throughout fiscal year 2014-2015.
    • Awards are up to $250 each with 50% match coming from UW Green Bay. (I.e. If awarded $250 from CUR, you would in addition receive at least $125  from UW Green Bay to support your travels.)
  • Applications must be received by 5:00pm EST January 15, 2015 for meetings held between February 16 – June 30, 2015.

Social Science Division – Student Travel Award 2014-2015

  • Travel grants for undergraduate students presenting their own, original research results at regional or national, discipline-specific meetings throughout fiscal year 2014-2015.
    • Awards are up to $200 each with 100% match coming from UW Green Bay. (I.e. If awarded $200 from CUR, you would in addition receive $100 from UW Green Bay to support your travels.)
  • Applications are now being accepted; award decisions are made on a first come, first served basis.

UW Green Bay Grants-in-Aid of Undergraduate Research

Grants-in-Aid of Undergraduate Research – Professional Development

The University is pleased to be able to offer grants in aid of professional development activities related to undergraduate research. The grants are for reimbursement of student travel expenses related to undergraduate students’ attendance or presentation at professional conferences or workshops (i.e. sponsored by APA, MLA, History, Sciences, UW System Research Symposium, etc.) that occur between January 1 and June 1, 2015. Priority will be given in making the award to those students who are presenting at a workshop or conference. The maximum award for an individual grant is $500.00 that will reimburse for travel to the conference/workshop (i.e. airfare, mileage, train, etc.), lodging expenses, meals, registration, parking, etc. All expenses must be in compliance with State travel policies (http://www.uwgb.edu/controller/travel/). The request for reimbursement should be made using the Travel Expense Report (TER) available at the noted link. Include a copy of the conference/workshop agenda with your signed TER. Grants are competitive so it is important that all requested information is provided with your proposal.

Applications/Proposals are due by 4:30 pm on January 23, 2015 – Notification of Awards will be made NLT February 2, 2015.

Grants-in-Aid of Undergraduate Research – Supplies and Equipment

The University is pleased to be able to offer grants in aid of undergraduate research. The grants are for supplies and equipment related to undergraduate students’ engagement in research projects that occur between January 1 and June 1, 2015. Priority will be given in making the award to those students who currently engaged in a faculty coordinated research project and commit to development of an article, conclusion summary, or formal presentation of the outcomes of that project. The maximum award for an individual grant is $150.00 that can be used for literature, necessary supplies, or equipment directly related to the research project. The request for funding should be made with a one-page budget (as noted on the form). Grants are competitive and the number is limited so it is important that all requested information is provided with your proposal.

Applications/Proposals are due by 4:30 pm on January 23, 2015 – Notification of Awards will be made NLT February 9, 2015.
