Theatre: ‘Twelve Angry Jurors’
Don’t miss Reginald Rose’s timeless American classic. Twelve strangers are sequestered in the jurors’ room as they review and discuss the evidence from a murder trial in which a young man has been accused of killing his own father. With the boy’s life at stake, the jury’s charge is not as simple as it first seems. Emotions run high as the jury foreman seeks true justice in the unanimous decision needed.

Almost, Maine encore – Jan. 3

Almost, Maine - UW-Green Bay Theatre ProgramThe UW-Green Bay Theatre program will begin rehearsing and remounting its production of Almost, Maine January 3 to sharpen the production for participation at the American College Theater Festival’s regional festival in Lansing, Mich. on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011. The public benefit performance is at 7:30 p.m. in the University Theatre in Theatre Hall. Tickets, available at the door, are $20 for adults, $10 for students, for purchase via cash or check only.

Almost, Maine earned enthusiastic reviews and audience response over its seven-show run earlier this fall. Prof. John Mariano directed the student cast through nine vignettes involving relationships at various stages. The action takes place in a tiny, snowy town in northern Maine. Read more.

Join in on the ‘Spelling Bee’ at UW-Green Bay

Directed by Laura Riddle with musical direction by Courtney Sherman. Join Rona Lisa Perretti, the Putnam County spelling champion, as she guides the six finalists (and several audience volunteers!) through the rigors of the Bee. The endearing competitors come from differing home and parenting styles and each brings unique flair to the art of spelling. It’s a touching and hilarious reminder of the joy and agony of middle school. See a video about the play.
