With the season of giving upon us, please consider making a gift back to your alma mater. Alumni support is more important now than ever, as tuition continues to increase, while other funding sources remain flat or decrease. Your gift helps support UW-Green Bay students through scholarships or supplementing costs for academic programs.

For example, UW-Green Bay alumni helped 47 students receive more than $60,000 in scholarships this year with their donations from last year. This is important, especially since 82% of undergraduate students qualify for and receive some form of financial aid. With a record 6,798 students this year, know that every little bit helps, and alumni gifts add up to a big difference for UW-Green Bay students!

UW-Green Bay Alumni Board members got together on a recent Thursday night with Alumni Phone-A-Thon student callers (including Director of Development Jeanne Stangel and new Director of Alumni Relations Kari Moody) to call alumni who gave last year just to say “Thanks.”

Have you heard the big news? Two of your fellow UW-Green Bay alums, Rick Chernick and Jim Wochinske, are challenging all alumni to give back by matching new or increased donations to the University. Even the smallest gifts could have a big impact.

The annual Alumni Phone-a-thon kicks-off in a few weeks.

Current students will be calling to update your information and help you reconnect with UW-Green Bay. And yes, they will be asking for a donation to help support the Scholarship Fund at UW-Green Bay.

Will you answer the call?

Thanks to a generous donation from Schwabe, parent company of Enzymatic Therapy and employer of numerous UW-Green Bay alumni (some are pictured above), UW-Green Bay got its pick of rotary evaporation equipment, an extensive glassware selection and more. The equipment, which would be worth an estimated $15,000 to $20,000 if purchased new, was donated and appreciated. Click here to see a video, photos and to read more.

Did you know that the Alumni Phone-a-thon is more than a method for your alma mater to ask for a gift? You can benefit from the call by comparing your UWGB experience with our callers, or by asking them about alumni benefits. We use the call to update our records so that  you are certain to receive Inside, your alumni magazine.

Of course, we’d also love for you to consider a donation to support student scholarships so that other UW-Green Bay students can have that same great experience you had. Can’t give this year?
