Alumni and friends are invited to the 31st Annual Alumni Scholarship Golf Outing, Friday, June 10, Royal Scot Golf Course, New Franken.
Download a registration form (pdf).

• $85 per golfer/$340 per foursome.
• Tee and green sponsorships are available.
• Check-in begins at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start at 10 a.m.

Fees include 18-holes of golf, power cart, lunch, door prizes, hors d’oeuvres reception and more.

Record number seniors attend resource fair

Spring Senior Resource Fair and ReceptionMore than 350 future alumni attended the Spring Senior Resource Fair and Reception in the Phoenix Rooms of the University Union on April 6.

The anxious seniors were able to register for commencement, pick up tickets and honor cords, order class rings and of course, buy their cap and gown.

There were plenty of smiles to go around.

Bee Program gets an A+ from “After Thoughts” Crowd
After ThoughtsMore than 175 attendees walked away from the first of the new series, “After Thoughts,” with fellowship, enrichment and fun. The program took place in the Weidner Center for the Performing Arts grand foyer, March 1. UW-Green Bay faculty member Amy Wolf, an ecologist and one of Wisconsin’s foremost bee experts led the program discussion titled “The Beauty of Bees and Their Impact on Our Lives.” Business faculty member (and UWGB grad) Lucy Arendt leads the next discussion, Tuesday, April 5, “In the Face of Disaster, How Resilient is Our Community?” E-mail Jeanne at giesenj@uwgb.edu with questions and a registration form …see photos, more

Business Week has Campus, Community and Students Smiling
Business WeekFather and son duo Sam and Andy MacMillan, representing two major companies, Hewlett-Packard and Oracle Enterprise 2.0, respectively, addressed a packed house Thursday night, Feb. 24. The MacMillans were the featured speakers at the inaugural “Business Week” event, a collaborative effort led by UW-Green Bay’s Austin E. Cofrin School of Business and Career Services personnel. Chancellor says Avoiding Layoffs and Maintaining Enrollment are Priorities
Chancellor Thomas HardenUW-Green Bay’s top priority in dealing with steep state budget cuts will be maintaining current enrollment and employee layoffs if at all possible. That is the message Chancellor Thomas Harden conveyed March 3 in a late-afternoon meeting in the University Union. He told the audience that despite the severity of the challenge, he is hopeful UW-Green Bay will succeed in maintaining both current services to students and employee positions. …read more

Phoenix Women take on Arkansas-Little Rock
Phoenix womens basketballThe No. 5 seeded Phoenix women’s basketball team will take on the University of Arkansas-Little Rock in a first round NCAA Tournament game at 4:20 p.m. Sunday in Wichita, Kansas. Green Bay Head Coach Matt Bollant said he was thrilled about the seed — its highest in program history — and the opportunity to play, for the first time in the tournament, on a neutral court. The Horizon League championship celebration and NCAA Send Off Celebration was held at the Kress Events Center. … see photos

Freeman Set for NCAA Skiing Championships
Carolyn FreemanGreen Bay Nordic skier Carolyn Freeman (Ely, Minn.) wrapped up her participation at the 2011 NCAA Skiing Championships in early March, with a 34th-place finish in the 15K classic, crossing the line in 59:26.6. Freeman placed 15th in the 5K freestyle race — the second highest finish by a Green Bay women’s skier at the NCAA Championships (Laura Anderson placed ninth in the 15K freestyle in 2001). Freeman ends her collegiate career as a three-time NCAA Championships qualifier and three-time all-CCSA performer. She won a total of seven individual races in her career, all of which were in the 2010-11 season.

Swimming and Diving Champs, Again!
The Phoenix women’s swimming and diving team won its seventh consecutive conference championship and claimed a few individual honors, as well. … read more
