… and a Phoenix in a Shoe Tree

A Phoenix in a Shoe TreeHave you heard the song ending in, “and a Partridge in a Pear Tree?” Well, we say, “Bah! Humbug!” to that! We prefer, “and a Phoenix in a Shoe Tree.”

Come check out the UW-Green Bay float at the Green Bay Holiday Parade beginning at 10 a.m Saturday, November 17. Many UW-Green Bay departments have collaborated to create a truly one-of-a-kind float that highlights 12 special features of the University — among them the state library of the year, sensational academics, award-winning faculty, one of the top women’s basketball teams in the country, arts and performances, and more.

shoe treeThe shoe tree is also a time-honored tradition at UW-Green Bay. When you graduate, you can fling an old pair of shoes into the “Shoe Tree,” signifying the end of college by leaving a little of your “soul” behind but marking your bright future.

We hope to see you at the parade but also welcome any alumni who want to volunteer to decorate as well. If interested in participating, please contact the Alumni Office at 920-465-2226 or alumni@uwgb.edu.
