The Lawton Gallery will host two senior art exhibits this spring, April 12-23 and May 3-14, with opening receptions on April 12 and May 3 at 4 p.m. The two exhibits feature art work, in a wide variety of media, by graduating seniors.

Here’s a great opportunity to mingle with Phoenix and Green Bay Packers players and coaches. It’s the Phoenix-Packers Steak Fry, Tuesday, April 21. The event features a 5 p.m. social hour, 6 p.m. steak fry dinner buffet and 7 p.m. program and auction.

The 12th Annual Phoenix 5K Cross Country Fundraiser will be held Saturday, April 18, at UW-Green Bay’s Kress Events Center. The run will start at 10:15 a.m., following the kids’ run at 10 a.m.

Participants can pre-register before April 12 for $15 ($20 on race day), $12 ($15 on race day) for UW-Green Bay students and staff, and $7 ($10 on race day) for the kids’ run. Entry forms are available at the Kress Events Center.

UW-Green Bay senior Matt Fayfer directs an upcoming production of the play “Copenhagen.” The play, scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Feb. 12, 13 and 14 in the University Theatre, features three actors depicting a mysterious meeting between nuclear physicists Neils Bohr and Werner Heisenberg in Nazi-occupied Denmark near the beginning of World War II.

“While the play’s subject matter may seem a bit heavy, the audience will find enjoyment from the intellectual stimulation offered by listening to Bohr and Heisenberg argue the issue back and forth,” Fayfer said.

The event features the UW-Green Bay Jazz and Vocal ensembles and a special Alumni Jazz Band directed by Lovell Ives, featuring Mark Israel ‘82 on the trumpet and Mark Burditt ‘81 on the trombone, along with many others! UW-Green Bay grad Jeffery Jaworski ‘03 music, entertains with a classical guitar recital at 7:30 p.m. November 19 in the Jean Weidner Theatre (formerly Studio 2), at the Weidner Center for the Performing Arts.
