Just back from San Diego International Wine Competition: Trout Springs Winery won three gold medals for its “Afternoon Delight.”

Alumni and friends are invited to come out and taste some wine Thursday, July 23, from 5 to 9 p.m., at Trout Springs Winery, 8150 River Road, Greenleaf, WI (just outside the town of Wayside).
Come see the beauty and enjoy wonderful wines being produced from Wisconsin-grown grapes and other fruit.

The cost is just $5 for the wine tasting. Wines will be available for purchase by the glass or by the bottle, plus cheese & cracker, pesto, and smoked salmon pate plates available for purchase.

As the spring semester enters its final few weeks, UW-Green Bay undergraduates continue to reach out to alumni to solicit support of scholarships and academic programs. Nearly 20 students callers are working the phones in effort to encourage 25,000 alumni to give back to their alma mater. Contributions go to help current and future students offset the rising cost of a college education and to ensure UW-Green Bay continues to deliver a quality, affordable, accessible education for years to come!

As Alumni Phone-A-Thon callers will tell you, UW-Green Bay alumni can be “creative” when it comes to finding reasons not to donate. While there are any number of perfectly legitimate reasons for not contributing, here are a few favorite “unique” comments from alumni:

• The alum claimed not to speak English.

• The alum pretended to be deceased.

• The alum was bathing the dog and could not talk…EVER!

• The alum was still upset over parking tickets received while a student and will never donate. (The alum graduated nearly 20 years ago.)

• The alum just donated to UW-Green Bay’s football team (WE DON’T HAVE ONE!)

We have heard them all! Please take the time to truly consider giving back to your alma mater. Without your contributions students will not receive help in attending our school.
