Grandparent’s University (GPU) begins its junior (third) year this summer, July 24 and 25. Grandparents and grandchildren can register online or download a printable form to send in with payment. Deadline is July 1 but classes fill very early. Classes include Fiber Arts, Fantasy Maps, Furs, Feathers and Scales, and more! Direct registration questions to (920) 465-2775. Save the date for what is sure to be a great event! From 4 to 7 p.m., Sunday, August 24, your Alumni Association welcomes you to Trout Springs Winery for wine tasting, hors d’oeuvres, tours of the winery, and music by members of the Dave Steffen’s Band. You’ve probably heard by now, it’s official — Chancellor Bruce Shepard is Western Washington’s next president. Read more.
Dr. David J. Ward was named interim chancellor beginning June 23. He knows campus and the UW System well. Read more.
Prof. William Laatsch (Urban and Regional Studies), the University’s longest-serving faculty member, has been named interim provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs. Laatsch, steps in upon the departure of Sue K. Hammersmith, who will assume the presidency of Metropolitan State University in Minnesota on July 1. Read more.
Please join other alumni, friends, and accounting firms that have paid tribute to the man who masterfully and intensively instructed and mentored accounting and business students at UW-Green Bay. Earnings generated from the scholarship endowment fund will provide annual scholarships of at least $1,500 to be awarded by the scholarship selection committee of the accounting program.
