I few weeks ago I mentioned all of the great food choices here on the UWGB campus and this week I will share with you some near-by off campus options.
UWGB is a great campus; it is secluded from any other homes or businesses in Green Bay. If you are planning to have a car with you at school, then you will be able to take advantage of a short drive to some great off campus dining options if you are looking for a change of pace from the food on campus.
For very close range choices, you have fast food joints such as: Subway, Taco Bell, and of course McDonalds. There are also some lesser know establishments such as Green Bay Pizza Company, Feta Z, and The Hilltop Café. These places are all less than 10 minutes away and are all pretty cheap for us college kids. GB Pizza Co. has everything from pizza to subs; it’s a great place to stop in and grab a quick bite. Feta Z is located in the heart of downtown Green Bay. It is a small Mediterranean Bistro that serves, in my opinion, the best gyros in town. And the Hill Top Café is probably the closest dining choice for you new students. It is located inside the Bp gas station less than a minute off campus. I know what you are probably thinking… any food place in a gas station stinks, but truth be told it is a pretty sold place to get a burger. The price is not too bad and they have good specials throughout the week… like buck burgers on Wednesdays.
If delivery is more your style, then there are really only two places you need to get familiar with and they are Toppers and Wing Zone. You can expect to see their delivery vehicles outside of your dorm room window at least a few times every night… especially on the weekends! I guess these two places are not the cheapest option on your plate, but the great taste and convenience is hard to beat. Another great thing about Toppers and Wing Zone is that you are able to use passpoints on any purchase…anytime! Along with these fine places there are tons of other places that deliver like Chinese food and basically any other pizza company you can think of.
If a sit down dinner is something you’re looking for then you’re in luck as well. If you drive just a few miles longer you can eat at restaurants near the Bay Park Mall in Ashwaubenon. You can eat at places like Applebees, Old Chicago, Olive Garden, Texas Road, and much more. The options are endless!
So don’t worry about the food selection here, we got you covered. If its good on-campus dining that your looking for or a special meal on the town, I have no doubt that you will find more than you bargained for.
